Yet another injury scare for Liverpool star could result in his absence from the EUROs
As reported by Liverpool.com, Andrew Robertson has picked up yet another injury which led to a premature exit from Scotland’s training. It is being reported that the Reds’ defender ended up walking off on his own which is a positive sign.
Barring any setbacks, Robertson is expected to be back following Scotland’s EURO opener. However, the 30-year-old has not been too lucky with injuries lately, and if any setbacks occur during recovery we could see Robertson miss the EUROs.
Even last season Jurgen Klopp missed the defender a lot as he went on to miss 21 games for the Reds. Robertson has lost a lot of his physicality and from the looks of it, the wear and tear of the playing in the Premier League has done a number on his body.
Despite missing so many games the 30-year-old’s contributions to the Reds were immense. He ended up making 30 appearances and even recorded five goal contributions during that time. There aren’t many LBs better than a fit Robertson.
However, the Reds should undoubtedly be looking to add more depth to the left-back position this summer. It has become quite clear that Robertson can’t be expected to stay fit for the entirety of a season, so having a secondary option will only go on to benefit Arne Slot and his team.
Thankfully, Robertson’s most recent injury doesn’t look too serious. He picked up a knock and should be able to recover before long. If something doesn’t change, this might be the last time the 30-year-old gets to make an international appearance.
