Liverpool star is ‘waiting’ to learn of his role under the Arne Slot era
There are surely going to be a lot of changes at Liverpool now that Arne Slot has taken over. While talk suggests that the Reds will be looking to bolster their middle line and defence this summer, the team might also end up taking a look at who stands in goal.
While their first choice goalkeeper will continue to be Alisson Becker, it’s the number two spot that the Reds need more clarity on. Caoimhin Kelleher is most likely going to be on his way out this summer and talk suggests that Adrian is in talks with clubs in Spain.
With both Adrian and Kelleher gone, the Reds will need to think hard and long about who their second choice goalkeeper would be. Liverpool star, Jakub Ojrzynski could be an option, but he says he’s ‘waiting’ to know his future at the club. Let’s have a look. (h/t Echo Dnia)
“I’m waiting for the next season. I don’t know yet where I will play next season. I’m still a Liverpool player, we’ll see how it all turns out.”
The 21-year-old academy player had terrible luck with injuries last season but he mentioned that he’s in the final phase of his rehab. Pretty soon Jakub should be out making appearances for Liverpool. However, the team has a big decision to make.
Liverpool and Arne Slot need to decide whether the 21-year-old has what it takes to be promoted to the senior team. Alisson can’t be expected to stay fit for an entire season and the team needs a reliable number two. If Jakub is up to the task it could save them millions.
It all comes down to what Slot thinks of the Polish goalkeeper. If he thinks he has what it takes to be one the first team, the team will save millions. However, if he doesn’t thing Ojrzynski has what it takes the Reds will spend millions.
