Liverpool are interested in bringing in Leny Yoro this summer
As reported by The Athletic, Liverpool are ‘actively pursuing’ a deal for LOSC Lille defender, Leny Yoro. The 18-year-old has also garnered interest from Premier League giants, Real Madrid and Champions League winners, Real Madrid.
The La Liga side is said to be in the lead for Yoro but that has not discouraged the Reds from pursuing a deal for him. The French defender can already hang with the best at just 18 years of age, his potential for growth is truly through the roof.
If Yoro is put into a good system and is given time to develop, he could end up being one of the best defenders in the game. This past season, he made 44 appearances for the French side and even ended up recording three goals for his team.
This will be the summer when Yoro’s future gets decided. It is being reported that Lille would be ready to let the 18-year-old go. However, a deal will only be struck if the French side can receive the right price. The Athletic estimates that it could cost more than €100m to sign Yoro.
Liverpool are not in the habit of breaking the bank over one signing. Knowing how the team operates they would rather sign three solid talents for €33m each. However, the door on a cheaper deal for Yoro still isn’t closed.
All the Reds have to do is convince the 18-year-old to take a switch to the PL. As things stand Real Madrid will end up winning the race for the French defender.
