Mbappe signing all but kills Real Madrid dreams of landing Liverpool superstar

Liverpool are ready to sell Colombian forward Luis Diaz for the price above £50 million amid interest from top clubs

Liverpool are willing to accept an offer above £50 million for their Colombian forward Luis Diaz amid interest from top clubs. Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain want Diaz to bolster their attack during the summer as Liverpool prepares for the new project.

Legendary manager Jurgen Klopp left Liverpool at the end of the last season, succeeded by new head coach Arne Slot. Slot is inheriting a strong squad from Klopp but he will make changes to accommodate his tactical style of play.

Despite having a similar philosophy and knack for developing youngsters like Klopp, Slot has a very different tactical style that requires changes. The Dutchman prefers buildup play over the direct and counter-attacking method that Klopp deployed in his heavy metal counter-pressing philosophy.

Diaz remained a key first-team player under Klopp last season, starting many games as a first-choice left winger for Liverpool. The Colombia international has dazzled the Anfield crowd and made himself a fan-favourite but his productivity is still lacking.

The 27-year-old made 51 appearances in all competitions for the Reds last season, contributing 13 goals and five assists. According to Football Insider, Liverpool are ready to accept an offer above £50 million for Diaz and procure a good profit.

Barcelona sporting director Deco is a big fan of Diaz and the player’s father fueled the transfer speculation last season. The 27-year-old’s father confirmed the player’s adoration for the Spanish Giants while expressing “hope” for a future transfer to Barcelona.

Diaz has faced issues with a language barrier during his tenure which is a mitigating factor for his lack of productivity. Meanwhile, PSG lost Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid and they want to make a statement by strengthening their squad.

The Colombian forward fits the profile they desire in a left-winger to fill the gap that Mbappe left. However, Diaz has publicly stated that he is “very happy at Liverpool” while addressing the transfer rumours. Liverpool have the upper hand in the situation with the contract and player’s contentment at the club. The Reds could ask for the big sum to let one of their first-team players go and only if he desires the same outcome.
