Liverpool could miss out on long-term target Andre Trindade to Fulham

According to a report from Football Transfers, Liverpool could miss out on long-term transfer target Andre Trindade after Fulham continue talks with the Fluminense midfielder over a possible move to Craven Cottage.

The Cottagers have a long-standing interest in the Brazilian, 22, and view him as an ideal candidate to potentially replace Joao Palhinha, who is keen on joining Bayern Munich. They have held talks with the representatives of Andre Trindade, whose contract at Fluminense expires in 2026.

Football Transfers claim Fluminense are open to offers for the 22-year-old midfielder this year amid interest from Fulham and Liverpool. The possible exit of Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich could accelerate an offer from Fulham, meaning Liverpool look set to miss out on the services of Andre.

Andre has established himself as one of the best young players in his position in his homeland since breaking into Fluminense’s first-team squad.

The report adds the Brazilian’s displays caught the attention of Liverpool last summer but a move to Anfield collapsed, with the club instead signing Wataru Endo from Stuttgart.

It will be a big blow for the Reds if they lose Andre to Fulham, as new manager Arne Slot wants to reinforce the squad ahead of the 2024/25 season. The Merseyside giants revamped their midfield unit last summer after the departures of experienced stars Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and James Milner, bringing in talents such as Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai.

However, Thiago Alcantara’s release at the end of last season has opened up space in the engine room. Arne Slot must look to fill in that gap by bringing in a young talent with huge potential. Andre is highly talented and has a bright future ahead of himself. The 22-year-old could develop into a key asset for Liverpool with the right coaching and guidance under the watchful eyes of Slot.

However, as things stand, it is Fulham who are showing concrete interest in Andre and remain in talks with his camp.
