Liverpool target's father has shed light on the players future at Bayer Leverkusen
Liverpool target, Florian Wirtz might be sticking around at Bayer Leverkusen for the near future. His father recently broke silence on the 21-year-old’s future amid interest from a number of clubs.
Wirtz has made a total of 49 appearances this season spending most of his time as an attacking midfielder. Wirtz was a sight to behold in the final third of the pitch. He recorded a total of 18 goals and 20 assists for his team meaning he was involved in a goal in almost every other game.

“Florian has a contract in Leverkusen,”
“He’s looking forward to next year at Bayer 04 when he can play in the Champions League with Leverkusen for the first time.“
His father ended his statement by saying that the current focus is on the EUROs and Wirtz still has a ton to do with Bayer Leverkusen so there’s no need for speculation. It’s safe to assume that the German will be playing for the German side at least for another season. Considering how good his time under Xabi Alonso has been, he might even stay until the Spanish manager leaves.
Even when Wirtz leaves Bayern Leverkusen, there’s no guarantee that Liverpool will be able to land a deal for him. FC Barcelona and Real Madrid have also been linked to the German midfielder and it might prove to be tough for the Reds to fight the Spanish giants away.
Signing Florian Wirtz would definitely be a huge move for the Reds. He’s one of the biggest talents in the world at the moment and with him in the middle or the forward line, Liverpool will be set for years to come.
It’ll be interesting to see what becomes of Florian Wirtz next summer. One thing is all but certain, the German forward will not be leaving Bayer Leverkusen any time soon.
