Liverpool could lose one of their stars to FC Barcelona this summer.
As reported by Spanish publication SPORT, FC Barcelona sporting director, Deco has made Liverpool star, Luis Diaz a priority for the summer. The Catalan side needs more than one signing for ahead of this summer but finances will be tight. The team is hopeful of returning to the 1:1 rule and if that comes to be, they would end up being a sizeable threat for Luis Diaz.
This past season the Colombian made 51 appearances for the Reds. He spent most of his time on the left wing and ended up recording 13 goals and five assists. Diaz did just fine, but he could’ve done much better. More often than not this season the Colombian had all the right answers except for the most important one.
What that means is that on more than one occasion, Diaz found himself square with the goal and failed to capitalize. An issue also experienced by Uruguayan striker, Darwin Nunez and Mo Salah last season.
The Reds will be looking to reinforce their attacking line this summer so it wouldn’t be wrong of the fans to expect more clinical finishing upfront. However, at the same time, Luis Diaz could end up leaving Liverpool this summer. But even that depends on FC Barcelona being able to gather proper funds for the job.
If the Catalan side is able to make a deal for one of their stars this summer. We wouldn’t be wrong to expect them to come after the Colombian winger. It could end up being a long summer for Liverpool fans if the team loses one of their most exciting players during the upcoming window.
