Liverpool planning summer swoop for Juventus young gun Kenan Yildiz
According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Liverpool are the favourites to sign Juventus youngster Kenan Yildiz this summer.
The Reds are scouring the transfer market for offensive reinforcements, as new manager Arne Slot aims to bolster the squad that finished third in the Premier League last season. There is speculation surrounding the futures of Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz, while Diogo Jota has become pretty much injury-prone, thus accentuating the club’s need for a new attacker.
Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz has emerged as a target for Liverpool. The Turkey international, 19, made his senior debut for Juventus at the start of the 2023/24 season and went on to make 32 appearances across all competitions, chipping in with four goals and an assist.
Fichajes claims Liverpool’s board admire Yildiz’s profile and versatility. The teenager can play out wide and as a second striker, is technically sound and likes to aggressively attack the final third of the pitch.
The versatile attacker, who is contracted to the Old Lady until 2027, is valued at around €30 million. One of the sublime talents to watch at Euros 2024, the report adds Liverpool doesn’t want to miss out on the opportunity to seal the deal for Yildiz.
The Juventus footballer is in an ideal age bracket, wouldn’t cost a bomb and has the potential to explore in the future. Yildiz could develop into a valuable long-term asset for Liverpool with the right coaching and guidance of Arne Slot. His versatility will be an extra bonus and could be a decent option to rotate with the likes of Diaz, Salah and Jota.
Yildiz has shown himself to be an exciting talent with his performances in a Juventus shirt in Serie A, and it seems clear the versatile attacker would add something new to this Liverpool side, with new manager Arne Slot certainly in need of a bit more dynamism and variety up front.
