Liverpool are ready to battle Premier League rivals to sign Crystal Palace star Michael Olise but face Mohamed Salah dilemma

Crystal Palace star Michael Olise is a transfer target for Liverpool but they face game-time dilemma with Mohamed Salah staying. Liverpool have a strong attacking department and with Salah staying, the competition diminishes potential game-time for Olise if he arrives.

Olise played a pivotal role for Palace last season, helping them finish 10th in the Premier League despite mid-season struggles. The Eagles won six out of seven of their last Premier League games with Olise delivering productive performances consistently.

The 22-year-old missed numerous games last season due to recurring injuries that have hampered his development for a long time. The Frenchman failed to make it to France’s Euro 2024 squad due to injuries overshadowing his incredible performances.

The France international made 19 appearances for Palace last season, contributing 10 goals and six assists in the Premier League. According to football journalist Jacque Talbot (via FooballTransfers), Liverpool are targeting Olise as well as PSV Eindhoven star Johan Bakayoko.

Chelsea and Manchester United want to sign Olise but they cannot offer the Champions League football that Olise desires. Olise has the quality, age and versatility that fit the profile that Liverpool desires in an attacker.

He is a creative force and a specialist with his passing and shooting techniques in both open-play and set-piece situations. However, the poor injury record and potential struggle with game-time next season is a big hurdle for this deal.

The Reds want a young player who could compete with Salah next season and then succeed him eventually. However, things could drastically change as Salah has one year left in his contract and Saudi Pro League clubs want him.

Liverpool does not act hastily in the transfer market and assesses their options properly to target the best player in a position. Olise is a fantastic player but his injury record is a big concern and game-time could play a critical role in the potential transfer.
