Liverpool ready to splash out €50 million for Moroccan star

Liverpool are ready to make a move for Real Madrid attacker Brahim Diaz

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Liverpool have set their sights on Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz to bolster their attack for the 2024/25 campaign.

The Arne Slot era has officially begun at Liverpool after his first interview with the club officials earlier this week. Under Arne Slot, the club are planning to bolster the squad that finished third last season. Adding a new forward appears to be one of the Reds’ priorities this summer amid speculation surrounding the futures of Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz.

Real Madrid attacker Brahim Diaz is one of the players Liverpool have identified and the Reds are willing to splash as much as €50 million for the Morocco international.

Mohammed Salah has been Liverpool’s best attacker and replacing him will take some effort.

Brahim Diaz, 24, enjoyed a strong 2024/25 season, helping Real Madrid win the La Liga and the Champions League. He registered a healthy tally of 12 goals and nine assists in 44 games for Los Blancos, and when considering most of his outings came off the bench, those goal contributions make the reading even more remarkable.

After a long-drawn saga, Real Madrid have finally managed to pull off the Kylian Mbappe deal and are now looking to make adjustments to their squad. With a plethora of attacking talents in the squad, the European champions would be willing to cash in on Diaz if they receive a tempting offer, the report states.

Arne Slot is searching for a young, creative, dynamic and versatile attacker who can help him rebuild Liverpool’s attack for the next season and beyond. This has brought Diaz to the Dutchman’s attention, with the ex-Manchester City forward more than capable of fulfilling different attacking roles.

The Malaga-born star can play out wide, through the middle as a No.10 or as an advanced playmaker, making him an ideal fit in Slot’s squad. With his flair, pace, dribbling skills and goalscoring ability, he can add a different dimension to the Liverpool attack. At just 24 years of age, Diaz could also be viewed as a long-term replacement for Salah, who has been on the Saudi Pro League’s radar since last summer.

Given the recent blockbuster addition of Mbappe to an already rich Real Madrid attacking unit, Diaz might be open to moving away from Santiago Bernabeu for regular minutes and joining Slot’s revolution at Anfield.
