Lijnders holds key to Liverpool youngster’s future as Norwich and Salzburg engage in loan battle

Norwich City and RB Salzburg are ready to compete for Liverpool youngster Bobby Clark with Pep Lijnders having an advantage

Liverpool youngster Bobby Clark is a loan target for Norwich City and RB Salzburg with Pep Lijnders having personal advantage. Former Liverpool assistant manager Lijnders joined Salzburg after leaving the club alongside legendary manager Jurgen Klopp after the last season.

Lijnders’ success as Klopp’s number two made him a fan-favourite at Anfield and he has a strong bond with Liverpool. The new Salzburg manager could benefit from his connection with the Reds official to lure Clark during the summer window.

At the same time, Liverpool would be at ease knowing Lijnders’ ability to harness the youngster and help him develop. Lijnders helped Klopp install a culture that develops youngsters and provides them opportunities alongside living up to Liverpool’s big ambitions.

According to Daily Mail journalist Lewis Steele, Norwich and Salzburg want Clark on a season-long loan deal during the summer. Norwich lost in the Championship playoffs semi-finals against Leeds United last season as they seek promotion next season.

Clark played an important role for the Reds last season when Klopp’s squad suffered a severe injury crisis. The 19-year-old played a key role in Liverpool’s Carabao Cup victory over Chelsea, displaying his skills and maturity.

Liverpool’s current and former staff highly rate the Englishman and prioritize his ongoing development, investing in his future growth. Clark could benefit from a loan deal at a club where he can play as a regular and gain experience.

The 19-year-old made 12 appearances at the senior level in all competitions for Liverpool last season. He scored a goal and provided two assists during his senior campaign while also featuring for Liverpool U21 last season.
