Liverpool in loggerheads with Bundesliga club regarding deal structure for 21-year-old

RB Leipzig want Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton but the two clubs are favouring a different structure of the loan deal

Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton is a loan target for RB Leipzig but the clubs are some way off the deal. The 21-year-old enjoyed a successful loan spell at Hull City last season, helping them finish seventh in the EFL Championship.

Standing at 1.85 metres, Morton plays as a natural defensive midfielder and possesses impressive qualities on and off the ball. The 21-year-old received big praise from several top coaches during his two-season loan spells and as a Liverpool academy player.

Morton has the engine and strength to hold his own against any top opposition despite lacking natural athleticism and pace. The Englishman has developed his mental and tactical aspects of the game with regular first-team experience in the Championship football.

RB Leipzig are keen on signing Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton.

Without the ball, Morton reads the game well, uses his positioning to eliminate threats with smart interceptions and tackles. He occupies the space between the midfield and the defence, allowing less time for opponents to act with hard work.

On the ball, the 21-year-old has built a good reputation for his crisp and accurate passes with a variety of ranges. Morton is a brilliant retainer of the ball and uses his movement well to resist press and continuously become available.

According to Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg (via X), Morton is a loan target for Leipzig during the summer transfer window. The Reds rejected the loan structure that Leipzig provided with an option to eventually buy Morton.

Liverpool are short on the number six position themselves as they assess players in the transfer market. Meanwhile, new head coach Arne Slot has the pre-season camp to assess the players he inherited which includes Morton.

Considering his immense potential, Liverpool would prefer either selling him instantly or keeping the youngster as a potential future starter. Many Liverpool fans admire Morton and followed his loan spell keenly as they hope for the youngster to make his name at Anfield. Rest assured, the Kopites trust the Liverpool management as they have shown consistency in making smart decisions in the transfer market.
