Fabio Carvalho reveals brotherly bond with Liverpool vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold

Liverpool midfielder Fabio Carvalho has revealed on Rising Ballers via X that Trent Alexander-Arnold usually treats him on a night out, asserting that he is ‘like a younger brother’ to the England international..

Fabio Carvalho, 22, joined Liverpool from Fulham in 2022 and made 21 appearances across all competitions in his debut season at Anfield. He has spent the last season on loan RB Leipzig and Hull City. After a successful loan spell with Hull City in the Championship, the Portuguese youth international is back to Liverpool.

The 22-year-old has spent a considerable amount of time with his Liverpool teammates, but it looks like he has bonded extremely well with vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold. During a recent chat with the YouTube channel Rising Ballers, Carvalho was asked to share his views on several topics on the pitch and off it.

When asked how do he and his teammates pay when out on dinner, Carvalho confessed on Rising Ballers: “He thinks I’m tight, innit? You know, we vary innit? I’ll probably say if I go out with like Harvey [Elliott], Curtis [Jones] and them man, like the boys, we’ll just split it. But then that takes too much time. So, someone pays and then we’ll just transfer the money kind of thing.”

“Okay, if I’m going out with like Trent, he’s got so much more money than me. So, he just pays it. And I’m his little bro as well.”

It clearly looks like Carvalho has gotten close with certain Liverpool teammates such as Elliot, Jones and Alexander-Arnold. The way he spoke about Alexander-Arnold’s gesture while out on dinner tells about the England international’s personality. These things go a long way in team bonding.

Alexander-Arnold is growing as a leader on and off the pitch and such little gestures are a true testament to that. At 25 and after winning the lot with his boyhood club, the right-back is a part of the core group of leaders in the dressing room. He has seemingly taken Carvalho under his wing, which should have helped the youngster in adjusting to the new surroundings following his move from London to Merseyside two years ago.
