Fenerbahce SK star Ferdi Kadioglu is attracting interest from Liverpool

According to a report from the Italian outlet Calciomercato, Liverpool are keeping tabs on Fenerbahce SK left-back Ferdi Kadioglu.

Ferdi Kadioglu has made quite a name for himself following his performances in the Super Lig. He enjoyed a strong 2023/24 season in Fenerbahce SK colours, registering a goal and four assists in 37 league appearances. The attacking left-back’s contributions were pivotal as Fenerbahce finished second in the table and only three points behind champions Galatasaray.

As a result, he headed into the Euro 2024 as one of the in-form players for Turkiye. And the 24-year-old didn’t disappoint as he was among Turkiye’s standout performers in the tournament, helping his nation reach the quarter-finals. Unfortunately, they got knocked out of the European championships by the Netherlands.

Kadioglu’s displays at the Euro 2024 in Germany have further enhanced his stock, with the aforementioned report claiming that the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Juventus are all interested in him. This has intensified the battle for his signature, potentially making it a complex deal for Liverpool to pull off.

The Reds are planning to bolster different areas of the squad with fresh faces who can compete with the current options next season. The Reds suffered a drastic dip in form this past campaign that cost them major honours, lacking sufficient squad depth to compete.

The Merseyside outfit suffered massively at left-back when Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas spent spells on the sidelines due to injury problems. Robertson was ruled out for four months following a shoulder surgery and his long absence affected Liverpool’s attacking transitions from the left flank. Tsimikas, when fit wasn’t able to deliver consistent performances, proving once again he is not cut out to compete at the highest level.

Andy Robertson endured a difficult 2023/24 campaign with Liverpool.

Joe Gomez deputised very well at left-back last season, but the time is right for Liverpool to invest in a young player who would be an upgrade on Tsimikas. Kadioglu, in that regard, would be an ideal option. Primarily a left-back, Kadioglu can operate as a wing-back and wide midfielder which would open up options for Arne Slot to use him in different positions if he joins the club.

The Turkiye international is a pacey, athletic and attacking player who could make an instant impact for the Reds. The 24-year-old could compete with Robertson for a spot in the first XI and eventually succeed the Scotland international.

In addition, the Merseyside giants will be able to offer him Champions League football next season which ideally gives us an advantage over our direct rivals Man United. With Fenerbahce valuing Kadioglu at around €30 million, this is a deal we must not miss out on.
