Eberechi Eze prefers Liverpool transfer over Arsenal but Tottenham could scupper deal
Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are all keeping tabs on a transfer for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, who may follow Michael Olise in leaving Selhurst Park this summer.
Eze was terrific last season as he scored 11 Premier League goals and provided four assists for the Eagles, therefore earning interest from the league’s bigger sides.
It has now emerged that he is inclined towards joining Liverpool over Arsenal, according to TBR Football, as the 26-year-old believes his opportunities may be limited with the Gunners.
Eze feels he will be able to win a starting berth in the Liverpool squad sooner rather than later as the Reds will only make a move for him if Luis Diaz were to depart the club.
Arsenal have already taken the first steps by speaking to Eze’s agents earlier this month but have not made any concrete approach thereafter for his signing.
Liverpool indeed would be a better-suited destination for Eze in terms of regular minutes as he can play in the vacant attacking midfielder’s role or as a left winger if Diaz departs.
The English international is also capable of playing on the right flank. That particular option could open itself up once Mohamed Salah departs the club, which is very much possible in 2025.
Tottenham Hotspur, however, could beat both, Arsenal and Liverpool, to Eze’s signing as they have been monitoring him for a considerable time and are planning on opening talks for his signing upon the end of Euro 2024.
The forward has a release clause in his Crystal Palace contract that amounts to £60 million. Though the east Londoners would want to keep Eze after Olise’s exit, there is little they can do if any club triggers his release clause.
Liverpool will be well-placed to pay the rightful sum for Eze if Luis Diaz leaves this summer. A decision from the Colombian will be due once the Copa America ends and it would be crucial in helping Liverpool plan for the upcoming season.

Eze is one of many left-wingers linked with a move to Anfield of late, but without a doubt, he would be an excellent choice.
