Real Madrid are interested in signing Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold
According to BILD journalist Christian Falk, Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold has emerged as a target for European champions Real Madrid.
The England international is under contract at Anfield until 2025 (Transfermarkt), and with no decision yet made on an extension, he could depart Liverpool on a free transfer next year. With just a year left on his current deal, Real Madrid may try to use it to their advantage and lure Trent Alexander-Arnold to Santiago Bernabeu.
Taking to his official X account, Christian Falk claimed that Alexander-Arnold is interested in a move to the Spanish capital this summer. The European champions have been in contact with the Reds vice-captain’s camp for over a month.
“Real Madrid is getting concrete with Trent Alexander-Arnold (25),” Falk tweeted.
“Arnold has contract till 2025, no contract extension at Liverpool yet.
“The Player is interested, there is contact since month.”
Liverpool are entering a new era following Jurgen Klopp’s exit earlier this summer after nine illustrious years in charge. The German’s successor Arne Slot is facing an uphill task of rebuilding the squad, but the passive start to the summer transfer window has frustrated the fans. In addition to acquiring new talents, Slot must also hold on to the club’s biggest stars who may be attracted to the idea of leaving Anfield following the exit of Klopp.
Real’s interest in Alexander-Arnold should be worrying for the Reds. The 25-year-old has been one of the best right-backs across the continent in the last few years, consistently displaying his offensive prowess on the ball for Liverpool. He has been a crucial figure for the Merseyside outfit, helping them taste great success in the Klopp era.
The England international’s value to our club just cannot be explained, and having spent his entire career at Liverpool and won every major honour, he may be interested in a new challenge. Just 12 months left on his existing deal has left Liverpool in a precarious position, one which needs resolving as quickly as possible.

Going by Falk’s latest claims of Alexander-Arnold being interested in a switch to Real Madrid, speculation around the player is only going to intensify as we inch closer to the start of the 2024/25 campaign. it remains to be seen whether Alexander-Arnold will require convincing to become a crucial part of Slot’s revolution at Anfield.
We must do everything possible to keep Alexander-Arnold—one of the best talents England has ever produced. Going by new sporting director Richard Hughes’ statement earlier this month about the club being confident the Kop hero will commit his future should relax the fans. There is no way we cash in on one of our most valuable assets or let him walk away for free next year.
