Jeremie Frimpong ‘dreaming’ of a Liverpool transfer

Liverpool are set to get the ball rolling in the Premier League in less than a month and have been linked with a number of players in Arne Slot’s maiden transfer window since succeeding Jurgen Klopp as the coach.

The Reds’ interest in Jeremie Frimpong, however, has been existent for a number of weeks. The Bayer Leverkusen full-back has a €40 million release clause with the likes of Manchester City and Real Madrid also keeping tabs on him.

According to German newspaper, Bild, the youngster ‘dreams’ about joining Liverpool although he has kept the door open to joining Manchester City or Real Madrid as well due to both clubs’ interest in him.

Frimpong’s exit from the Bayer Arena is unforeseen to happen in the ongoing transfer window but he would be a terrific transfer for Liverpool if Trent Alexander-Arnold departs for Real Madrid in 2025.

The Englishman is reportedly interested in a blockbuster transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu and if indeed he were to leave, the Reds would have an extremely difficult task at hand when it comes to replacing him.

Frimpong, however, is a modern day right-back and at 23, he will provide Arne Slot with long-term cover in defence. His offensive skills will particularly important as those are also Alexander-Arnold’s most impressive characteristic.

Liverpool, however, will be expected to imminently get contract talks underway with TAA and if they are able to tie him to fresher terms for a few more years, they might cool interest in signing Frimpong as he does not offer any versatility.

Only time will tell whether the Premier League giants will fulfil Frimpong’s ‘dream’ of playing for them but it is hard to deny the fact that he would be a terrific signing for them if the need for a right-back arises.
