Liverpool are ready to sell Tyler Morton this summer
Liverpool are ready to sell midfielder Tyler Morton this summer, demanding a “significant” fee for the promising young talent. According to Pete O’Rourke via Football Insider, Liverpool are keen to offload some of their fringe players to boost their transfer budget this summer.
Morton, who spent last season on loan at Hull City in the Championship, has attracted interest from multiple clubs across Europe due to his impressive performances. Given the options on our roster at this moment in time, the youngster could be considered expendable.
Despite his potential, the 21-year-old is expected to be on the fringes of Arne Slot’s squad for the upcoming season. Morton will look to make a strong impression during pre-season in hopes of securing a more prominent role. However, Liverpool’s readiness to sell him indicates they are open to cashing in should a suitable offer come in.
Morton joined Liverpool at the age of seven, rejecting an offer from rivals Everton, and made his senior debut against Norwich in 2021. Last season, his loan spell at Hull City showcased his talents, making him a sought-after player. Morton also had a successful loan stint at Blackburn Rovers, highlighting his ability to blend into different systems.
Despite his potential, he is unlikely to become a regular starter for Liverpool in the near future. At this stage of his career, regular playing time is crucial for his development. The Reds’ midfield is not just deep but also young. Moving on from Liverpool to a club where he can play consistently might be the best option for him to reach his full potential.
Several clubs, including Sevilla, RB Leipzig, and Eintracht Frankfurt, have been linked with Morton. These clubs could provide him with the game time he needs to continue developing. If Liverpool decides to sell him, they will do well to further add a buyback price or a sell-on clause to further maximise the deal.

While selling Morton could provide Liverpool with a financial boost, they might regret the decision in the long term if he fulfils his potential elsewhere. The 21-year-old has shown glimpses of becoming a reliable player, and regular playing time at a different club could accelerate his development.
But then given that the likes of Stefan Bajcetic are already at the club, it could very well come down to the Reds retaining just their elite talent and allowing others to move on. It certainly is a luxury to have. Morton was once branded exceptional by Jurgen Klopp, but given the competition at a club like Liverpool, not every talent goes on to enjoy their dream in red.
