Liverpool academy starlet Jayden Danns eyed by Championship side Plymouth Argyle
According to a report from TEAMtalk, Liverpool academy starlet Jayden Danns is attracting interest from Championship outfit Plymouth Argyle.
Jayden Danns broke into the first-team picture under Jurgen Klopp last season. Having trained with the first team for the majority of the season and impressed Klopp, the teenager was handed his Premier League debut in February—coming on as a substitute for the final few minutes in the 4-1 home win over Luton Town.
The young forward, who also holds Guyana citizenship, netted a brace in the Reds’ 3-0 win over Southampton in the FA Cup fifth round and was a part of the team that beat Chelsea 1-0 in the Carabao Cup final at the Wembley Stadium. He has done enough to catch the eyes of Liverpool fans and pundits alike, and now five months on after making his league debut, Danns is linked with a move to a Championship club.
The aforementioned report claims new Plymouth Argyle boss Wayne Rooney is a big admirer of Danns and wants to bolster his squad by signing the Liverpool teenager on a season-long loan.
Plymouth narrowly avoided the drop from the Championship this past campaign, finishing 21st on the table upon promotion. They have appointed Wayne Rooney as the new boss to turn the club’s fortunes around and help them stay in the English second tier for the second successive year.
The Devon-based outfit struggled for goals in 2023/24, managing only 59 in 46 Championship games. And Rooney wants to address that problem by seemingly bringing in Danns on loan from Liverpool. Given the competition for places within the attacking ranks at Anfield, Danns is unlikely to get opportunities to play regularly under new Reds gaffer Arne Slot.
So, the best idea for all parties involved would be for the player to go out on loan and enjoy regular playing time to continue his development. Rooney and Plymouth have sounded out to Liverpool over a potential loan move for the young forward, who is currently injured and has missed the chance to impress Arne Slot in the upcoming US pre-season tour.

Danns’ current plan will be to recover as quickly as possible and get regular first-team experience in the Championship. If Liverpool feel a move to Plymouth would help accelerate the academy starlet’s development, they must sanction a move before the season starts.
