Liverpool are ready to officially confirm the signing of Chelsea starlet Rio Ngumoha after earning approval from the Premier League
Transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that Liverpool are ready to officially confirm the signing of Rio Ngumoha from Chelsea. The Reds agreed a deal for Ngumoha earlier this month but required a post-investigation process approval from the Premier League.
Liverpool and Chelsea butted heads in the transfer market last summer over the signing of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia. The London rivals used all of their financial resources recklessly to beat the Reds and sign the two defensive midfielders.
However, Liverpool had the last laugh in the situation when both players failed to deliver as Chelsea stumbled in mid-table. The signing of Ngumoha from Chelsea’s academy would rile Chelsea even more considering the high potential of the young attacker.
Many scouts consider Ngumoha as one of the finest English prospects of his young generation with a very high ceiling. Chelsea fast-tracked the 16-year-old due to his incredible talent, featuring him for their U21 team. He earned the Player of the tournament award when Chelsea U16 won national champions last October.
