Leicester City have joined other Premier League clubs in the transfer race to sign Liverpool star Fabio Carvalho this summer
Liverpool star Fabio Carvalho is a transfer target for Leicester City who join Southampton in the transfer chase this summer. Carvalho has performed brilliantly in the pre-season tour for the Reds as the beginning of the new season draws near.
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has invested more time and energy in the Portuguese that many believe he could stay. The Liverpool boss played Carvalho as the left-winger instead of his preferred number 10 role during the pre-season friendly games.
Carvalho has followed Slot’s instructions carefully and enjoyed a prolific pre-season tour, scoring several good goals. The 21-year-old impressed the fanbase with his dazzling skills, close control and ability to challenge opponents one-on-one.
Currently, the Reds have Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo as the natural options for the left-attacking wing position. If Liverpool maintains their past ambition and takes every trophy seriously, they will need a big squad and healthy rotation.
Therefore, a lot will depend on the club’s ambition as playing many games would allow significant game time for the youngster. However, the 21-year-old has ambitions to play regular football which is problematic as the attack department has many established players.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Leicester are ready to compete with Southampton to sign Carvalho during the summer window. The Reds have rejected a £15 million bid for Carvalho that the Saints made for the Portuguese forward.
The transfer saga could go until the deadline day if both Carvalho and Liverpool opt to go separate ways. The Portuguese spent last season on loan, struggling at RB Leipzig but proving his worth at Hull City later.

Liverpool have not shared any particular valuation for the Portuguese but he is definitely worth more than twice the £12.05 million (14 million euros) which is according to Transfermarkt. We expect Leicester and Southampton to continue testing Liverpool with better offers until they put a worthy offer on the table.
