Liverpool are ready to sell Luis Diaz for £50m this summer
Liverpool are ready to part ways with Colombian winger Luis Diaz before the transfer window closes at the end of August. Despite initial interest from European giants Barcelona and PSG, both clubs have since shifted their focus to other targets. However, the Reds remain open to selling the Colombian if their £50 million asking price is met according to Football Insider.
Diaz has been a key player for Liverpool since his arrival, making 47 starts across 56 appearances in all competitions last season. The 27-year-old contributed 13 goals and five assists, cementing his place as the first-choice option on the left side of the attack during the second half of the campaign under former manager Jurgen Klopp.
His performances have not only been vital for Liverpool but also for his national team, as Diaz played a starring role in Colombia’s Copa America campaign, where they reached the final before narrowly losing to Argentina.
However, while Diaz is a standout performer for Colombia, he is rather inconsistent in the final third for the Reds. His numbers could and should be much higher, and the lack of cutting-edge in the opposition box has cost us dear ones on several occasions. Should we bring in Anthony Gordon, one can see why Diaz can be considered expendable.
Liverpool’s pursuit of a new left-sided forward has been ongoing throughout the summer. The club even engaged in discussions over a potential player-exchange deal involving Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon, who was seen as a younger, more dynamic alternative to Diaz. Although an agreement could not be reached, sources indicate that Liverpool’s interest in Gordon remains active as the summer transfer window enters its final stages.
Despite having not made any signings so far, Liverpool have been working diligently behind the scenes to strengthen their squad. The possible sale of Diaz could be a part of a broader strategy to rejuvenate the team under new manager Arne Slot.

However, with the club’s ongoing efforts to refresh their attacking options, Diaz’s future at Anfield remains uncertain. Should Liverpool receive the desired £50 million offer, the Colombian winger could be on his way out, paving the way for new signings as the Reds look to build a squad capable of competing on multiple fronts in the upcoming season.
