Liverpool deny agreement to sell Luis Diaz to Manchester City

Liverpool star Luis Diaz has been linked with departing the club this summer. Barcelona have seen him as an alternative to Inaki Williams while some reports stunningly claimed that he has already agreed to join Manchester City.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that such claims are false with the Reds as well as the Sky Blues firmly denying having an agreement in place for the Colombian international’s move to the Etihad Stadium.

The Reds have explicitly stated that no approach has been made by Manchester City and it is expected that the player has his heart at Anfield. Liverpool fully expect him to continue at the club in the upcoming season.

Luis Diaz staying is great news for Liverpool as he still has a lot to give in the offensive department. The recently concluded season was an aberration but the player was also the subject of some fitness snags, whereas he also encountered a personal tragedy as his father was kidnapped.

Liverpool are ready to sell Luis Diaz for £50m this summer.

The former Porto superstar will be expected to fire on all guns blazing this season whereas the interest from Barcelona goes on to clearly indicate that Luis Diaz remains one of the best wingers in the world.

Liverpool have not signed a single player throughout this summer’s transfer window and are the only club yet to acquire someone. Therefore, they can least afford to lose someone who is as integral a part of their starting eleven as Diaz.
