We approach the 2024/25 season’s first Big Game as Liverpool Visits Old Trafford on Sunday. Amid all the transfers and deadlines, Manchester United has bagged the PSG midfielder, Manuel Ugarte before the deadline day. However, the 23-year-old Uruguayan will not be able to feature against Liverpool this weekend.

Ugarte to miss out on the Big Home debut against Liverpool

Manchester United will complete the £42.3m midfielder’s signing on Friday, the deadline day. It is believed that the club did not approve the agreement before the clock struck twelve, despite the fact that the deadline to participate in this weekend’s matches was Friday at noon. As a result, Ugarte will not be able to feature against Liverpool.

The tides certainly look in Liverpool’s favour after a dominating home victory and United losing in the dying moments to Brighton last weekend. Moreover, The primary issue with Ugarte’s late registration is that United will have little midfield depth on Sunday with McTominay out and Mount hurt.

Both teams’ recent meetings in the premier league from last season ended in a draw. And after the quarter-final loss in extra time in the FA Cup, Liverpool will be eyeing to square up the record and get all three points this Sunday. However, according to Arne Slot has ruled out the possibility of Federico Chiesa to feature in the game either. Liverpool fans will have to wait a few more days to see the new signing in action.

The battle of midfield looks on Kopites’ side as the team is looking quite comfortable with the ball. This will be Slots’ first big test in the premier league. We expect goals and great accuracy as the team has scored four goals keeping a clean sheet in their first two games. Football season is pretty much back as the deadline day makes way for an action-packed weekend.
