The Transfer Window closed with a lot of players getting their exit. Amid all of this, it has been an interesting week for Liverpool fullback Trent Alexander-Arnold. In Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Brentford, Arne Slot made an interesting decision to take Alexander-Arnold off halfway through the second half. The England international who is not used to getting subbed, didn’t seem very impressed with the new manager’s decision.
Is the temperature rising between Trent Alexander-Arnold and the new manager?
Trent Alexander-Arnold was strongly linked to a move to Real Madrid this summer. But with Liverpool rejecting a possible bid from the Spanish capital and the deadline day passed, he seems to stay. With this sequence and Alexander-Arnold’s unhappy reaction towards his manager last weekend, Slot took the liberty to go and console him on the bench. However, he looked unimpressed at the full-time and there have been speculations about a strong disagreement between the two.
According to football consultant Keith Wyness, things have been quite heated in the Liverpool camp. Trent Alexander-Arnold who was not shy to show his emotions has a changed attitude, claimed Wyness. He also took a podcast platform to explain the situation quoting
“All the signs, the rumors and the body language have suggested this could be the end for Trent at Liverpool.
“But it’s a difficult one.
Wyness also suggested that a move to Real Madrid seemed suitable as Liverpool’s fullback looked to join his good friend Jude Bellingham at the Bernabeu.

The speculations of things falling apart between the manager and Alexander-Arnold could be just rumours. However, the transfer to Real Madrid was something he anticipated after Jurgen Klopp’s exit last season. As the big game on Sunday against United marches upon, it’ll be interesting to see the fullback’s involvement.
With roughly 12 months remaining in his contract, fans expect Liverpool to open renewal negotiations with the skipper. Whether he’ll be convinced to change his mind about the move or his exit is certain is a matter postponed. However, it’ll be important to see how the relationship between the new manager and the Liverpool academy player goes from here on.
