We’re in for an action packed Sunday as the Reds visit Old Trafford. This will be the first big game of the 2024/25 season and possibly Arne Slot’s first big test in England’s top flight. As the squads look a bit shuffled from last time around there will be plenty of interesting matchups on the pitch.

Some Crucial Head-to-Head Matchups

With Manchester United lacking the midfield depth, it’ll be important for the ones available to take command. One casual mistake and LFC will come pondering upon them. It’ll also be interesting how the new full-back goes against the wingers.

Casemiro Vs Dominic Szoboszlai

A straight matchup between the attacking midfielder and the holding midfielder. It’ll be very crucial for Manchester United that Casemiro keeps the Hungarian lock. However, With Szoboszlai afforded space, Liverpool will come knocking on the United doors.

Luis Diaz Vs Noussair Mazraoui

Luis Diaz must be in flying confidence after ending up on the scoresheet last weekend. It’s inevitable that with Diaz putting the burners on will be a test for the Manchester United fullback. While Mazraoui has shown promise in his introduction to the premier league, this will be a real challenge.

Amad Diallo vs Andy Robertson

Amad Diallo will look to continue his fine form in the league so far. He’s looked United’s most promising forward till now. However, facing Robertson will be a test with very little space afforded by the fullback. Getting in behind and making smart runs will be crucial for the Ivorian as Robertson will look to make his life harder than ever.

More Liverpool News:

Liverpool’s defence has been pretty solid with no goals conceded from the first two match days. They will look to confirm their fine defensive form as they visit the Theatre of Dreams. While under Arne Slot, the team has very little to criticize as they’re keeping a compact shape.

With Virgil Van Dijk leading the lines, LFC has only faced four shots on target. As it looks, Manchester United will have to do a lot more than what we’ve seen to break the walls.
