Liverpool are facing a critical situation with the contracts of their stars Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk. The Reds have started the era under Arne Slot with three consecutive victories in the Premier League, securing nine points.

Trent, Van Dijk and Salah have played a pivotal role in the games to help Slot seamlessly implement his tactics. While Trent and Van Dijk have remained quiet about their contract situations, Salah’s recent comments caused a lot of commotion.

The Egypt captain said that he is enjoying his last year at the club, shocking the fans and football world. The 32-year-old has started the season strongly after the surprise dip in form and injury he suffered late last season.

The Egyptian legend has scored three goals and provided three assists from three Premier League games so far this season. Salah’s incredible return to form and strong competition in Federico Chiesa has relieved the Liverpool fanbase for this campaign.

There is a consensus that the Egyptian deserves a justified contract to remain at Anfield but within Liverpool’s practical realm. The management maintains a stern policy when it comes to ageing players to keep their financial health and wages in check.

According to Liverpool Echo, Salah wants to sign a new contract and prolong his stay at Anfield for more seasons. The Egyptian has the quality, reputation and importance that can shift the club’s policy to give a lucrative contract.

According to the report, Salah could earn more at the Saudi Pro League but Sadio Mane’s reputation decline there worried him. Mane joined Al Nassr from Bayern Munich alongside several highly reputed players but the league continued to struggle with audience.

The Egyptian international is earning £350,000 per week from his current contract, a salary that will hinder negotiations. However, Salah’s decline is very gradual as he continues to maintain his peak physical shape while adapting to the new style.

The 32-year-old has good pace but he is linking up more with his teammates to counter any gradual decline. A mutually beneficial deal for both the player and the club would bring joy to the fanbase that adores Salah.
