Salah open to new Liverpool contract without a pay-cut
Liverpool beat Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford and Mohamed Salah was on top of his game against the Red Devils once more as he notched his 15th Premier League goal versus the opponent in addition to providing two assists.
However, following the Reds’ victory at Old Trafford, he highlighted that the ongoing campaign is his “last season” at Anfield and that nobody at the club has commenced contract talks with him so far given that it expires on June 30th, 2025.
Football Insider has claimed that the Egyptian remains open to the prospect of staying on Merseyside on one condition, which is to not accept a fresh deal with a reduction on his current pay that stands at £350,000 per week.
He has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia in recent months and the Reds even rejected a bid worth £150 million for his services from Al-Ittihad last year, but as per Football Insider’s report, it is being said that Salah privately has told that he wants to continue his career at Liverpool to etch his name into the club’s history as one of their greatest players ever.
It is extremely unlikely that Liverpool won’t at least make a contract offer for Salah and very frankly, he has done enough to be rewarded with his current wage at the club if not a few thousand quid higher.
Since joining from AS Roma in 2017, Mohamed Salah has been the most prolific Liverpool attacker with over 300 goal contributions in all contributions and has defined one of the most successful periods that the Reds have ever witnessed.
Even at the age of 32, he has demonstrated his fantastic form and adaptability to continue his stunning form under Arne Slot, under whom he now has struck three goals and provided three assists in as many Premier League outings.
