Darwin Nunez is currently facing a five international match ban along with the $20,000 in penalties. Luis Suarez who announced his international retirement in a press conference was asked to address his former-club striker’s situation. Suarez while mentioning he’s already had a talk with Nunez to ESPN said:

“I have already spoken to Darwin when he was sanctioned in England. Sometimes people enjoy more when you’re on the floor and you fall, but people get hurt more when you get up again.”

“And that’s what he has to do: get up and continue demonstrating the kind of player he is. There you can see the great players and the mental strength he has to have to show those people that he likes to see him on the floor,”

”Off the court we created a very good bond, as I always say Luis is an idol for me, and he also advises me a lot.”

There would be no other better player than Suarez schooling Nunez. It is not a secret; he himself hit a few downfalls and bans in his career. Nunez, who has mentioned Suarez as his idol once or twice, could really use the motivating words from his Salta native. Not only Nunez, but the veteran also took time to mention how these are some tough times for other players like Rodrigo Bentancur, and Gimenez following the situation.
