Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah will extend his stay at the club to break more records. Liverpool have started their season spectacularly under the new head coach Arne Slot, winning the first three Premier League games.
Slot has successfully implemented his tactics under the philosophy that matches former manager Jurgen Klopp to make the Reds efficient. Liverpool are the only club in the Premier League who have not conceded a single goal in the three games.
Meanwhile, the attack has continued to thrive as the Reds have scored seven goals in three games to display dominance. Liverpool beat Manchester United 0-3 at Old Trafford last weekend in the Premier League match before the September international break.
Speaking to Premierleague.com (via Liverpool Echo), Wright revealed that he believes Salah will stay at Liverpool and continue building his legacy. He said:
“I do get the impression that he [Salah] will probably like to stay at Liverpool and break records. He has got that legacy to play for. Let’s say he stays for three years. Even if he dropped off in the last year, that’s 10 years of unbelievable Liverpool service. I believe that he will probably stay if Liverpool go about it.”
Salah has continued his prolific form for the club under the new head coach, shunning doubts about his age. The Egypt captain’s surprise injury and late dip in form last season raised a lot of questions about his future.
The 32-year-old is playing in the last season of his current lucrative contract at Liverpool, earning him £350,000 per week. Salah’s comments after the Manchester United game raised alarm among the fanbase as he implied this season was his last.
However, Liverpool are ready to extend the Egyptian contract under the correct finances despite the situation breaking their usual policy. The Reds management prefers against giving lucrative contracts to ageing players nearing the end of their prime years as footballers.
However, Salah is unique because of his consistency, physical shape and his loving relationship with the Liverpool fanbase. The Egyptian also boast an incredible reputation in the football world, attracting a massive global fanbase towards the Merseyside club.

The 32-year-old has three goals and three assists in the first three Premier League games for Liverpool. Hopefully, Salah will continue his prolific form without any repeat of last season’s problems, however, Federico Chiesa’s availability negates any risk factor for Liverpool.
