With the arrival of new managers come new strategies. New strategies could sometimes mean shuffling of players or looking into the depth. Liverpool kicked off their new season under Arne Slot after Jurgen Klopp bid farewell to Anfield. Since his arrival, Liverpool are heavily linked with players worldwide.

From the Zubimendi falling over to signings of Academy graduates, Liverpool are pushing their scouting regime. Even though the Transfer window has closed for the season, Arne Slot is still marking players and sparking rumours.

The latest addition to transfer talks and scoring eyes is the Brentford striker Bryan Mbuemo. The Reds are keeping a close eye on the Frenchman according to Give Me Sport. Mbeumo’s asking price from Brentford was previously put at £50 million, but the way he has performed over the past two seasons and his contract lasting till 2026, he may see his price go up.

After the Ivan Toney controversies, Mbuemo was really asked to step up for Brentford. And it is safe to say he has done that job quite swiftly. He had a huge improvement in the 2022–2023 season. With Liverpool and other clubs hovering Mbuemo’s life could really take huge turns soon.

It’s not only Liverpool who seem impressed by the Cameroon International. Clubs like Newcastle and Arsenal would also bid their chips on Mbuemo according to Give Me Sport. It’ll be interesting to see how the Reds go on with this transfer around New Year.

Liverpool haven’t been shy in trying to increase their squad strength since the arrival of Arne Slot. While they managed to get their hands on Yashin Trophy 2024 nominee Giorgi Mamardashvili and Juventus’ Federico Chiesa, they are still in the hunt for more suitable players. With the tight schedules and injuries always hovering, maybe having a little more depth wouldn’t be so bad for the Merseyside.
