Liverpool is off to one of its best starts to the Premier League campaign. Under the new manager, Arne Slot, the Reds have kept a 100% record after three match days. Plenty of opinions are being handed out on how things have changed under the new regime. With a stellar defence and lethal attack displayed, many players and pundits have also taken time to acknowledge the positive changes at Merseyside. One such interview reviewing changes at Anfield has come to light recently.
Alisson Becker acknowledges the changes under Arne Slot
One of many players who would be buzzing with Liverpool’s performance would be first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker. The Reds are the only team yet to concede after three match days. This means Becker who currently earns €11,346 gross per week is yet to be beaten this season in the premier league. Acknowledging the new management, speaking to Liverpool’s official website, the Brazilian goalkeeper said :
“His [Slot’s] ideas are not too complicated. He’s a really smart manager – not only about the way he thinks about football but the way he implements his ideas, it’s really clear.
“The message is really clear, so for us players, it’s not too complicated and I think that’s what we are showing on the pitch. Now we get confidence from doing the things that he asks us to do.
“But he demands a lot of hard work from us and our side, we have to keep going with this kind of thing. “
The Attacking Wingers have Alisson’s respect
Not only did he take time to mention the tactical changes under Arne Slot, but he also made sure to mention the attacking performance. The Brazilian had some praising words for the joint top scorers of the team Salah and Diaz as he said:
“He [Salah] is a special player but he makes it look normal,” Alisson continued. “But when you look at his numbers, it’s unbelievable.
“The way Lucho is playing as well – his contribution to the team, his goalscoring, his movements, the things he can do when he has the ball.
“But what I want to highlight is the hard work of these guys defensive-wise. They are running a lot, they are working so hard for the team when they don’t have the ball – I think this is what is making us win these games at the beginning of the season.

This isn’t the first a player has spoken about the tide shift under Arne Slot. After their comfortable 3-0 victory at Old Trafford, Andrew Robertson also reflected on the positive notes under the new manager’s regime. While there is a lot on the table with contracts running out and players intending to move, at least the tactical mindset is looking good. Liverpool are picking things up from where they left off under the tight schedule, and returning from the International Break will be a deciding aspect of their season.
