Jamal Musiala could potentially break the British transfer record set by Chelsea for Moises Caicedo if he makes a Premier League move from Bayern Munich next year.
Musiala, 21, is approaching the final two years of his contract, having last renewed it in 2021 shortly after breaking into Bayern Munich’s first team. Since then, the attacking midfielder has solidified his position as one of the Bundesliga’s top players.
Musiala’s Future Remains Undecided
The German wonderkid, now one of the world’s top players, missed out on the Ballon d’Or nomination list. He earns £96,154 per week, significantly less than the English striker, who takes home an impressive £480,769 weekly.
The Express reports that Musiala is seeking £300k per week on his new deal, believing this would better reflect his status in the sport. Despite this, he did not feature among the 30 Ballon d’Or nominees, unlike his Bayern teammate Harry Kane, who reportedly earns £400k per week in Munich.
Discussions between Musiala and Bayern continue, but there are concerns in Bavaria about competing financially with City or Madrid. Bayern have previously lost David Alaba and Toni Kroos to the Spanish giants.
Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl, addressed the situation recently, stating, “We have been in talks for months. We will sit down and discuss things in our own time.”

Manchester City have also been monitoring Musiala for the past year, especially with their former player Vincent Kompany now coaching Bayern. However, Liverpool, along with Arsenal and United, are also in the mix, despite Madrid emerging as City’s primary competitor
