Liverpool manager Arne Slot backed his team’s aggression as they rebounded from a disappointing Premier League defeat to Nottingham Forest, scoring three goals against Bournemouth in the first half on Saturday.

Luis Diaz scored twice in three first-half minutes and Darwin Nunez netted his first league goal of the season to leave Bournemouth reeling, and they never recovered as Liverpool coasted through the second half to victory.

The Manager’s Contentment

As quoted by beinsport, here is what Slot had to say:

“The match wasn’t as straightforward as the score suggests. Despite being 3-0 down, Bournemouth stayed in the game and kept pushing until the final whistle, which you don’t see very often.”

Following a disappointing performance against Forest, Slot expressed satisfaction with how his team executed the game plan.

“I was particularly pleased with our build-up from the back and how often we found a free player in midfield. It happened frequently in the second half and created several chances in the first half,”

Since taking over from Jurgen Klopp in the summer, Slot continues to shape Liverpool into a team that reflects his playing style, with progress still ongoing.

What The Boss Had To Say

The Manager was very impressed with the second-choice keeper and was grateful that the board decided to keep him as he was inevitable today and showed a massive performance:

“We have to give him credit because he made some very good saves, and I also like how we defended in the end phase of the game with the blocks we had. It’s nice to have in that position more than one quality player.”

Arne Slot will now hope for his team to keep going strong in the Premier League. Helped by the fact that Manchester City have dropped points earlier today, the Reds will look to keep pushing and solidify their strong start to the season.
