Arne Slot has managed to get the best out of some players from what we’ve seen. Not only has the midfield benefitted entirely, but the style of the game has also levelled the wingers up. With a commanding midfield and stellar defence, the attacking threat keeps boosting its confidence. The numbers on the sheet aren’t lying as so many Merseyside players have found their top form at the start of the season.

Luis Diaz is turning heads with his match-winning performances

Among the many shining attackers of Liverpool, Luis Diaz can be held as the most improved. Since the joining of Arne Slot, the Colombian winger has found new wings. In the latest victory against Bournemouth, Diaz bagged a brace upping his tally to five for the season in five games. Reflecting on the performances, the improvement of Diaz is held in high regard by the pundits. On LFCTV’s Review Show, veteran Liverpool striker Neil Mellor discussed Diaz’s season thus far and remarked, “Unbelievable.” Talking on the Show he said:

“If you’re wondering when did Luis Diaz get to five goals last season in the Premier League? February. So it just shows the improvement he’s made this season.

“Outstanding, it really is.”

With six goal contributions in five games, Diaz has already chased half of the numbers from last year. The winger has managed 8 shots on target converting five of them. So not only is he a menace running at you, but his finishing ability is changing to lethal under Slot.

More Liverpool News:

It is no secret that the defensive side has flourished the most under Slot. Keeping four clean sheets in five league games is clear proof of it. But what’s not being talked about enough are their transitions from defence to attack. From the holding midfielders to the pacy wingers, the synchronisation looks like an establishment already.

Diaz who is currently on a £55,000 per week contract has been performing the role of signer handed up until now. With the arrival of Federico Chiesa and Cody Gakpo there the healthy competition increased, and the Columbian has managed to establish himself right from the start. However, we’ve barely seen from Chiesa which means the position on the left flank is still up for grabs. Keeping this winning mindset and putting up numbers will be key for Diaz to hold his position.
