Caoimhin Kelleher, currently on a £10,000 per week contract, has not hesitated to express his desire to leave Liverpool. Following Arne Slot’s deadline-week signing of Giorgi Mamardashvili, the Irish goalkeeper felt compelled to seek an exit. Although Mamardashvili will remain on loan at Valencia until the summer, Kelleher’s future at the club has become increasingly uncertain due to the new arrival.

Expert’s View over the Irishman’s Demands

Achterberg has shed light on Caoimhin Kelleher’s readiness to become a number one goalkeeper at a top club. Achterberg believes the 25-year-old Irishman has the talent to perform at the highest level, saying, “Kelleher is ready to be a number one goalkeeper, and I think he could play at a top club.”

With rumours linking Kelleher to Bayern Munich as a possible replacement for the retiring Manuel Neuer, Achterberg supports the idea, stating, “If Bayern wants him, it would be a good choice. He can play at the top level.”

The young goalkeeper, with his prime years ahead, believes leaving Liverpool is the best decision as he seeks a number one spot elsewhere. John Achterberg agrees, having confidently told Kelleher that he’s “better than the great David De Gea when given the chance.” With such high praise from the goalkeeping coach, Kelleher is eager to step into a lead role at a top club.
