Alexis Mac Allister could line up to be the next Liverpool Captain
The Argentine has already made 53 appearances for the club, contributing to 14 goals and assists. His team spirit and professionalism have earned him a place in Liverpool’s leadership group, while he currently earns £150,000 per week.
Liverpool now find themselves in a difficult situation with contracts, as both the captain and vice-captain could leave for free next summer. This wouldn’t be unfamiliar territory for the club, though. In 2023, Jordan Henderson and James Milner both departed, leaving a leadership void that was filled by Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Even so, new leaders will need to emerge as the current group gets older. Mac Allister, just entering his prime years as a professional player and already having shown himself to have world-class potential, is an ideal candidate.
