Pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has praised Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch for his performances under Arne Slot, calling him one of the “top three” midfielders in the Premier League. The Dutch has excelled in his new number six role, earning another Player of the Match award during the weekend’s match against Wolves.

Gravenberch Continues his amazing form

Agbonlahor highlighted Gravenberch’s impressive season, noting he has been named Man of the Match in nearly every game, except for one.

After limited playing time under Jurgen Klopp, Gravenberch has thrived under Arne Slot, showcasing his strength, aggression, pace, and skill. The midfielder earns £150,000 per week and has made 45 appearances for Liverpool, solidifying his position in the starting lineup and proving to be a valuable asset for the team.

“For me, he is an outstanding midfielder. And I am putting him in there as one of the three midfielders so far this season. An outstanding talent and just shows how strong Liverpool are in that department.”

“To be completely honest, that surprised me even a bit!” Slot admitted after Liverpool’s win over Wolves. “I know him from the Dutch league, but I think at Bayern Munich and Jurgen [Klopp] did a real good job to make him also better without the ball, and that’s what we are taking the benefits of right now.”

It’s hard to overstate how exceptional Gravenberch has been this season. From the very first match, he has consistently delivered outstanding performances, making it challenging to find anyone in better form in his position globally. If he continues on this trajectory, he could become a defining player for Liverpool and a force to be reckoned with in the Premier League.
