Liverpool fans have a lot to cherish from what they’ve seen so far this season. With their victory over Crystal Palace, Arne Slot’s men retain their top spot for another week. Moving forward, Liverpool will face what will be their toughest test in the Premier League. With the International break and two big games against Arsenal and Chelsea, there’s a lot behind the curtains the Reds have to think about. Approaching games with intent without being hasty would be key in this month’s fixtures.

Virgil Van Dijk says there’s a lot of room for improvement

Liverpool could sign Marc Guehi for as little as £40 next year.

It’s no secret that all the regimes have improved under Slot with the recent signings blending in. But the most impressive record has to be of defensive walls who have kept five clean sheets in seven games this season in the Premier League. Reflecting on the coming fixtures and aspects of raising the standards, Liverpool captain Virgil Van Dijk talked to the LFC media saying:

“We want to improve, we want to challenge, we want to compete until the final day and win and be successful.”

“We know how tough the fixture list will be after the international break but why not enjoy it? I’m looking forward to that and hopefully, everyone involved with Liverpool is as well.”

These are some real leaders like comments from Virgil Van Dijk. The Dutchman who is in the final few months of his £220,000 per week contract is known for his positive aura. Not only can he calm things on the pitch, he’s been a figure youngins look up to. The things he’s been a part of under Jurgen Klopp have made him a battle survivor.

Liverpool will face Chelsea after coming back from the International break on October 20, 2024. To top that off, the Reds will be playing two away games against RB Leipzig and Arsenal in the following week.

Keeping a proper game plan and a squad rotation agenda is going to be a tricky thing for Slot. This will possibly be his chance to shut the very few doubters remaining of him. With injuries always hovering above, managing the players will be more important than managing games sometimes.
