Liverpool are exploring possibilities to bring Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo to Anfield next summer as the Reds prepare for life without Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian international has been subject to links with a move away from the Merseyside Reds as his contract with the club comes to a close and Liverpool are exploring options to replace the 32-year-old at AXA Training Centre.
There has been a lack of transfers at Merseyside Reds over the recently concluded summer transfer window, and the chiefs at the club are now working hard to ensure that they have a blueprint ready for the 2025 transfer intervals, to capitalise on potential opportunities in the market and try bagging highly acclaimed players from across Europe.
They didn’t have to look far to land their premier target, Antoine Semenyo. The Bournemouth winger has been eyed by Liverpool, per GiveMeSport. However, they will face competition from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United. That is not the only hurdle, though. The Cherries do not want to sell the 24-year-old, as they aren’t ready to lose another important player after Dominic Solanke’s £65 million departure to White Hart Lane. That being said, the financial offerings complemented by the player’s preference will have ample to do with the final outcome.
Should Liverpool eye Semenyo?
Semenyo has taken strides since his move to Bournemouth in 2023, and has already made 55 appearances for his current employers. The player also started the ongoing campaign on a high, scoring three (3) goals and accumulating an assist in the first seven Premier League fixtures.
His Bournemouth teammate, Lewis Cook, recently claimed that the Ghanaian has ‘all the ability in the world’ (BBC Sport).
