Liverpool have been subject to links with highly regarded Nordsjaelland star Daniel Svensson as the Reds look to bring the 2002-born player to Anfield in 2025. The Swede is plying his trade in the Danish top tier and can feature in a central midfield as well as left-back roles. He can also feature as a right-back, defensive midfielder, right midfielder, and even in the centre-back role.
There were reports last month that the Merseyside Reds are vying for his signatures and are ‘closely following’ him after being impressed by his physical and versatile profile.
Despite his tender age, Svensson has already featured in 146 games while contributing towards 28 goals in the process. The Swede enjoyed a splendid output in the previous campaign as well, where he netted 4 goals and registered a further tally of 12 assists in 48 appearances.
Liverpool eye Nordsjaelland’s Svensson as Robertson replacement
Svensson did feature in the left-back role for the majority of the games, and his versatile profile has now caught the attention of elite clubs across the English top tier as the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, and Aston Villa express interest in landing the 22-year-old, per TBR Football.
Liverpool see him as a long-term replacement for the likes of Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas, and the fact that he can feature through the middle means that Arne Slot can use him in an inverted role. And Svensson has already confirmed the Reds interest in his services (via. Fotboll Skanalen):
“[The Liverpool interest is] great fun, of course. It’s a sign that I’m doing something right and performing well. I just use it as fuel to run on. It was obviously a bit surreal. I don’t know much about it. I only know that Liverpool watched some matches and such. More than that, I don’t know.”
