Whoscored reported that Liverpool are the most dominating team with the highest aerial duel wins stat in the Premier League. The Reds have started the season strongly under Arne Slot, displaying a slightly different yet effective tactical style of play.
Liverpool have won nine out of their first 10 games in all competitions, maintaining a high level of winning consistency. However, they have not played any team from the top of the Premier League table yet with congested fixtures approaching.
Liverpool will face a big challenge in Chelsea after the October international break, followed by numerous games in quick succession. They will face RB Leipzig and Arsenal right after playing Chelsea to start a hectic period until the November break.
According to the stat-based site Whoscored (via X), Liverpool have registered the highest aerial duel wins in the Premier League. The Reds have a 63.8% duel win rate followed by Everton’s 54.9% and Tottenham Hotspur’s 53.9% so far this season.
Crystal Palace have the worst duel win rate with a 40.9% success rate followed by Bournemouth’s 44.4% and Chelsea’s 45.3%. Liverpool have capitalised on their aerial dominance, particularly due to Ibrahima Konate and captain Virgil van Dijk’s consistently high form.
The Reds’ defensive duo have maintained a formidable defence for the club as Liverpool only conceded four goals so far. Liverpool played the defensive partnership of Joe Gomez and Jarell Quansah only against West Ham in the Carabao Cup victory.
They conceded one of those four goals overall, eventually winning the match 5-1 to progress further in the cup competition. Liverpool will use the rotation policy more during the congested period and each player in the squad needs to perform.
