Liverpool are thriving this season but remain vigilant in scouting new talent. According to Football Insider, sources reveal that Liverpool target Jamie Bynoe-Gittens could be available for around £40-50 million next summer following his impressive start to the season. The Reds are among the clubs closely monitoring the 20-year-old’s progress at Borussia Dortmund.
Jamie Gittens, one of the most promising young talents, made the move from Manchester City’s youth team to Borussia Dortmund’s academy in 2020. He’s thriving in the ideal environment for his development, having already played 67 games and contributed 20 goals. Earning around £50,192 per week, Gittens is attracting attention from top clubs across Europe.
Liverpool target Gittens to cost £40-50m next year
According to Football Insider (14 October), Borussia Dortmund will consider selling Jamie Gittens next summer, with Liverpool, Tottenham, and Chelsea all showing interest. The German side hopes to secure over £40 million for the winger, provided his development continues. Sources indicate that negotiations are expected to take place during the summer window, with no transfer likely to occur in January. Gittens, who joined Dortmund from Manchester City four years ago, is currently enjoying the best form of his career.
The right-footed left winger has hit four goals and notched two assists in nine games this term.
That is despite only starting in five of those outings – with his brace against Club Brugge in the Champions League coming as a late substitute.
Jamie Gittens signed a long-term contract with Borussia Dortmund in 2023, keeping him with the club until June 2028. Since his England Under-21 debut in September 2023, under current senior manager Lee Carsley, Gittens has made 10 appearances for the national youth side.
