Liverpool incurred a slow summer transfer window and have barely made any signings since Arne Slot took charge of the reins at Anfield Stadium; however, going into the upcoming transfer intervals in 2025, the Reds are looking to get marginal advantage over their rivals as they plan to lay an early blueprint for the upcoming windows.
Slot is using a side he inherited from Jurgen Klopp, and he would be looking to lay his own foot prints with time. And he has been looking to get fresh blood to replace the ageing players in the squad, with Andy Robertson being one of the players that could be soon swapped out.
The Merseyside Reds have been eyeing a move for Leece left back Patrick Dorgu as Arne Slot & Co. looked at him alongside fellow Premier League rivals Chelsea and Tottenham.
However, the Reds hope to secure a move for the highly talented 19-year-old, who has suffered a blow as Dorgu signs a new contract with his current employers.
Can Liverpool still sign Dorgu?
While there have been ample speculations about a potential exit, the player has gone on and committed his future to Leece to aid his development while the Italian side looks to protect his valuation.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Danish international has committed to new terms with Leece till 2029, which comes as a blow to his Premier League suitors.
Liverpool would have been hoping to get their hands on the player who can not only replace but also replicate everything that Andy Robertson has done at Anfield Stadium. Looking at his quality and age, he could be a presence at Anfield for a long time to come.
However, they will now have to either pivot to a different player or look to sit down with his employers and negotiate for a fair fee with Leece.
