Liverpool are enjoying a flying start to the season, with Slot’s men showcasing their ability to excel in both domestic and European competitions. However, the club is currently facing a crisis, as three of their key players have contracts expiring at the end of this season. Among them, Trent Alexander-Arnold is increasingly likely to join Real Madrid when his Liverpool contract expires in the summer of 2025.

This insight comes from Mick Brown, a former scout for Manchester United, Tottenham, and Aston Villa, who is well-connected in the football world. He exclusively told Football Insider that there is a “very strong possibility” this deal will materialise.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, a lifelong Liverpool player, has established himself as one of the best right-backs in the world, arguably second only to Dani Carvajal. The Scouser has made 321 appearances for the club and has amassed an impressive 100 goal contributions to date, a remarkable tally for a full-back. Currently, TAA is Liverpool’s third-highest earner, taking home £180,000 per week.

Expert convinced TAA to be a galatico at the end of the season

Brown has emphasised that if any club other than Real Madrid were interested, staying at Liverpool would have been a straightforward choice for Alexander-Arnold. However, the temptation to join the ranks of the latest “Galactico” at the Bernabeu is likely to be irresistible for the defender. Following Kylian Mbappé’s arrival at Real Madrid, the club has set its sights on Alexander-Arnold as their next superstar signing to complement an already star-studded squad. Having worked with top players during his career, including over a decade at Manchester United during their most successful period, Brown noted that while Liverpool desires to keep the defender, they will ultimately be powerless to change his mind.

“And if his contract situation is such that it allows him to explore a deal in January, I’ve heard there’s a very strong possibility that move will happen.

“If you took Real Madrid out of the equation, any talk over his exit would be a non-story.

“Liverpool don’t want him to go and he wouldn’t want to move.

But you throw Madrid into the running and all of a sudden it all changes.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future at Liverpool hangs in the balance as speculation mounts over a potential move to Real Madrid. With the allure of becoming the latest “Galactico” at the Bernabeu proving hard to resist, the Scouser may find it difficult to turn down the opportunity to join such a prestigious club. Despite Liverpool’s desire to retain one of the world’s best right-backs, the combination of Real Madrid’s interest and Alexander-Arnold’s ambitions could lead to a significant shift in the summer of 2025.
