Liverpool superstar ranks first for most touches in the opposition box in the PL

Whoscored reveals how Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah continues to hound opposition defence in the Premier League compared to other forwards. The 32-year-old has continued his prolific form for the club despite doubts over his longevity after last season’s late struggle.

Liverpool faced a late collective dip in form last season that ruined their strong chances of winning multiple major trophies. The Egypt captain faced criticism for struggling to finish chances and impact the overall game after the March international break.

Salah also suffered a long injury layoff last season which concerned Liverpool fans as he had a great injury record. However, Salah proved that form is temporary and class is permanent by consistently contributing to goals and assists this season.

The 32-year-old has seven goals and seven assists from 12 games in all competitions for Liverpool so far this season. According to Whoscored, the Liverpool legend Salah made the most touches in the opposition box in the Premier League.

The Egyptian has 81 touches followed by Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva at 71 and Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka at 67 so far. Salah has played a pivotal role for the attacking department in delivering goals under Arne Slot’s new tactical playing style.

Liverpool have played under a more controlled style this season, emphasizing balance in their approach to maintain their dominance. The Reds have only conceded five goals in all competitions while delivering entertaining attacking performances as they did under Jurgen Klopp.

The 32-year-old is playing in the last season of his current contract which earns him £350,000 per week. Salah’s performances are evidence of his uniqueness that could lure him to another contract that goes against Liverpool’s principles.
