Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah continues to deliver despite the contract uncertainty, scoring the match-winning goal against Brighton & Hove Albion. The Reds beat Brighton 2-1 at Anfield in the Premier League despite falling a goal behind in the first half.

Liverpool conceded a goal in the 14th minute of the game as Brighton threatened them with aggression and intense high-pressing. The Reds struggled to maintain any phase of dominance, going into the halftime with a 0-1 scoreline against the Seagulls.

Liverpool started the second half strongly as Brighton resorted to time-wasting and dropping too deep to secure a surprise win. However, Liverpool left-winger Cody Gakpo scored an equaliser in the 70th minute to maintain his fine goalscoring form.

Salah used the shift in momentum to his advantage and scored a stunning match-winning wonder goal in the 72nd minute. The 32-year-old easily beat the visibly hostile Pervis Estupinan to cut inside and hit an inch-perfect curling shot.

According to Sofascore, Salah won five ground duels and earned four fouls while fighting for dominance against Estupinan. The Egypt captain displayed incredible playmaking qualities by making two key passes, enjoying 36 touches and 65% passing accuracy.

Salah is earning £350,000 gross per week in his current contract which finishes at the end of the current season. Liverpool fans hope the situation will resolve well before January when players can negotiate pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs.

The 32-year-old faced criticism last season for a surprise late dip in form which he suffered alongside his teammates. Furthermore, Salah suffered a surprise injury lay-off which raised more concern as he never had such issues with injuries.

Nevertheless, the Egyptian proved he had plenty of time left in his prime, justifying the need for a new contract with his incredible performances.
