Liverpool are off to an electrifying start this season, aiming for a potential treble as Arne Slot’s tactical approach fuels their momentum. Meanwhile, Wolves might finalise a January deal for Wataru Endo, with Liverpool reportedly open to offers for the midfielder, according to sources from Football Insider.

If Liverpool secures a midfield reinforcement in January, they may allow 31-year-old Wataru Endo to depart Anfield. Unlike Jurgen Klopp, current manager Arne Slot has placed less emphasis on the Japanese international, particularly as Liverpool lead the Premier League with no pressing need for a tactical overhaul.

Slot has elevated Ryan Gravenberch into a prominent role since his arrival, solidifying Endo’s position as surplus to requirements within the squad.

Wolves, Ipswich, and Fulham Eye January Move for Liverpool’s £50,000 per week star

Wolves, Ipswich Town, and Fulham have expressed interest in signing Liverpool’s defensive midfielder Wataru Endo and are keeping a close eye on his status as the January transfer window approaches. Meanwhile, Liverpool are set to re-enter the market for a central midfielder, with Football Insider revealing that the Reds are looking to strengthen in that area. Martin Zubimendi, a standout from Real Sociedad, topped Liverpool’s summer shortlist, though a deal for the Spain international ultimately did not materialise.

Japanese captain Wataru Endo, who moved from Stuttgart to Anfield, quickly became a cult hero at Liverpool, especially after his standout performance in the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley. Since joining, Endo has made 51 appearances for the Reds, contributing three goals along the way.

With Slot’s side leading both the Premier League and Champions League tables early this season, it appears Wataru Endo could be on his way out in the winter transfer window. Slot has given ample hints that the Japanese midfielder isn’t a key part of his future plans, especially with Ryan Gravenberch thriving in midfield. Given Gravenberch’s consistent performances, Endo’s chances of breaking into the starting line-up seem slim.
