Liverpool are set to face Real Madrid on 28th November as they seek to exact hard-earned revenge on the reigning champions. As one of the best teams in the world right now, Liverpool will aim to dismantle a weakened Real Madrid side. Ahead of the Champions League clash, Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois shared his thoughts, predicting that Arne Slot’s team will be highly motivated and ready for the massive fixture.

Liverpool star calls on 'crazy' fans to prevent 'big story'.

The Belgian is focused on securing another victory as Liverpool prepares for a grudge match against Real Madrid this Wednesday night. The Reds, who have suffered recent defeats to the La Liga giants, including heartbreaks in the 2018 and 2022 Champions League finals, will surely be eager for some revenge.

Courtois ready to face Liverpool and had praises for the club Legend

Courtois, who has faced Liverpool 13 times and won more than half of those encounters, has only been defeated once by the Merseyside side. Despite Liverpool’s strong form under new manager Arne Slot, leading both domestic and European competitions, Courtois acknowledges the advantage of Anfield but is determined to maintain his excellent record against them. The Belgian goalkeeper played a key role in Madrid’s narrow 1-0 victory in the 2022 Champions League final in Paris, earning the Player of the Match award. He was also in goal when Madrid staged a remarkable comeback at Anfield in February 2023, coming from 2-0 down to secure a dominant 5-2 win.

The memory of the shoulder injury inflicted by Sergio Ramos, which forced Mohamed Salah to leave the 2018 final in Kyiv early, still haunts the Egyptian forward. As his Liverpool contract nears its expiration next summer, Salah has stirred Real Madrid ranks with subtle hints of seeking retribution on the pitch.

The Belgian explained speaking on Real Madrid play,

“Liverpool is a team with a new coach after many years with Klopp,” “Now with Arne Slot, it is a very dynamic, offensive team, with the same dynamic.”

“With a lot of pressure, a lot of attacks, good counter-attacks and a lot of speed up front. Playing at Anfield is a plus for them. They will surely be very keen on us because they lost the final in Paris and the round of 16 in 2023. They will want that little revenge and we hope to win.”

He also had praises for the Egyptian king

“Salah is a special player,” “He makes the difference at Liverpool. He is very good and we will have to keep a close eye on him.”

Thibaut Courtois shared a dressing room with Mohamed Salah at Chelsea for half a season. With Salah already racking up 12 goals and 10 assists in just 18 games this term, Courtois is well aware of the threat his former Chelsea teammate poses.
