Liverpool backed to make a January move for electric Brighton attacker
Liverpool could solve their number nine problems by signing Brighton & Hove Albion forward Joao Pedro during the January window. The Reds have enjoyed a prolific season in front of goal which played a crucial role in their early success.
Liverpool have won 18 out of 21 games in all competitions with two draws and a loss to their name. Head Coach Arne Slot has implemented his ideas into the senior team and has helped them improve from last season.
Liverpool are more balanced in both the defensive and offensive phases of the game, conceding 14 goals and scoring 49. However, the Reds have overly relied on legendary forward Mohamed Salah to score goals and provide assists throughout this season.

While Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz have also enjoyed fantastic form, the rest of the attacking options have respectively struggled. Diogo Jota has once again suffered a long injury lay-off which makes him unreliable despite his lethal goal-scoring abilities.
Federico Chiesa is still building his fitness level after Juventus rushed him every time he suffered an injury in Italy. Meanwhile, Darwin Nunez has delivered some strong performances but his struggle with converting easy chances continues, making him unreliable too.
According to journalist Francois Plateau, Liverpool could make a move for Brighton forward Pedro during the upcoming January transfer window. The 23-year-old has enjoyed a prolific form for the Seagulls, scoring four goals and providing three assists from eight games.
Player Analysis: Joao Pedro
Standing at 1.82 metres, Pedro leverages his versatility and physical prowess to dominate in any position he plays. The 23-year-old has played centrally for Brighton this season and enjoyed more efficiency with his contributions through goals and assists.
The Brazil international is gradually developing into a lethal converter of goals if he can remain free from injuries. Since joining Brighton from Wolves in the 2023 summer window, Pedro has missed only nine games through a hamstring injury.
This season, the 23-year-old has enjoyed a 44.44% shot conversion rate in the Premier League, sitting at the 99th percentile. Pedro had nine shots from eight matches to score four goals for Brighton, displaying his lethal finishing abilities.
The 23-year-old uses intelligent movements within the box and reads the game instinctively to reach the threatening areas. Pedro is also a fantastic assist-maker, enjoying a 50% cross-completion rate this season at 97th Percentile in the Premier League. Furthermore, his three assists put him at the 99th percentile in the Premier League as well.

The 23-year-old is a fantastic dribbler with a success rate of 2.04 per 90 minutes this season while earning 2.24 fouls per 90 minutes. If Liverpool are considering that it is time to move on from Nunez and Jota, Pedro is a fantastic option.
